PLACEMENT TEST INFORMATION

Applicants who are applying to the Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Associate in General Education, Associate in Applied Science degree curriculums, Practical Nursing, Phlebotomy, Cosmetology and technical diploma or technical certificate programs must take placement tests in English, mathematics, reading and algebra.

EXCEPTIONS TO PLACEMENT TESTING:

Applicants who have scored 450 on the verbal section of the SAT are not required to take the English and reading placement test. Applicants who have scored 450 on the mathematics section of the SAT are not required to take the mathematics and algebra placement test.
Applicants who have scored 19 on the American College Test are not required to take any placement test.
Applicants who transfer in a college-level mathematics course with a "C" or better are not required to take the math or Algebra placement tests. Applicants who transfer in a college-level English course with a "C" or better are not required to take the English or reading placement tests.
Applicants who have successfully completed their required developmental mathematics, English, reading, or algebra courses at an accredited college or university are not required to take Cleveland Community College’s placement tests or complete the developmental course(s).
Special credit students (those who are not pursuing a degree, diploma or certificate) are not required to take placement tests. Some individual courses do, however, require prerequisites, testing, or exemption from testing.

If the applicant does not pass the appropriate placement test(s) or meet exceptions as stated above, the applicant must enroll in and successfully complete the applicable developmental course(s).

PSB, Computer Placement Tests, and high school testing have not been included in this schedule.

Please bring a calculator to use on the Algebra section of the ASSET.
