Cleveland Community College offers high school students several options for earning college credit while simultaneously being enrolled in traditional high school classes. Huskins courses may be college transfer, technical, or vocational courses offered in cooperation with Cleveland County high schools. Courses are typically taught during the normal school day on the high school campus, although some courses are taught on the Cleveland Community College campus. The Dual Enrollment program provides opportunities for high school students to mainstream into existing community college courses. Eligible high school students must be 16 years old or older, currently enrolled in a North Carolina high school at least one-half of a full time schedule (one-half of the high school day), and making satisfactory progress towards graduation in order to participate. Learn and Earn Online (LEO) provides qualified students in any North Carolina high school with a variety of online college-credit courses at not cost to them. Access to these courses is provided during the regular school day or after school. Through local and state articulation agreements, qualified students may be able to transfer or "articulate" high school Career - Technical Education (CTE) credits to Cleveland Community College through the Articulated Credit program.
All of these options are available to high school students without tuition fees. Some programs do require the purchase of textbooks. You can find more information regarding these programs by clicking on each individual program link below.
