CCC Instructor Presentation and
Book Signing for Seventh Civil War Book Published
Cleveland Community College electronics engineering technology instructor, Mark Hughes, recently published his seventh book, entitled “The New Civil War Handbook: Facts and Photos for Readers of All Ages.” This book covers the life of Civil War soldiers and generals as well as technology in the war. In Hughes’ previous books he has written much about his expertise on Civil War cemeteries. “This book is so different from my earlier publications because I look at the effects the war had on women, Native Americans, African Americans, and civilians.” Hughes reminds his readers that the Civil War is the one war that most people who have been in the United States for a long time, can trace their family roots back to. “The Civil War appeals to a wide range of people. I bought my first Civil War book in 1961 for $5 dollars at the Richmond National Battlefield. A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of selling a copy of this book to a 10-year-old boy,” says Hughes.
Hughes will present, “Civil War Images” on Tuesday, November 17 at 7:00 p.m. in the Mildred H. Keeter Auditorium on the CCC campus. Copies of The New Civil War Handbook can be purchased following the presentation during a book signing session by Hughes.
Hughes’ book can also be purchased through his website at civilwarhandbook.com or on amazon.com.
