Cleveland Community College has been selected as a pilot site for the Career Readiness Certificate (CRC).  The CRC certifies core employability skills that are required across multiple industries and occupations.  The CRC is a portable credential that promotes career development and skills gap training.

Several new companies have located or announced that they are locating in Cleveland County. These employers are looking for employees whose skills match up with the skills needed for jobs at their plants.  The CRC is composed of assessments in the three areas that are recognized by 90% of jobs profiled by WorkKeys®.  WorkKeys® assessments were developed in conjunction with ACT, the same company that produces the SAT.

If you are interested in becoming certified in the areas of Applied Math, Reading for Information, and Locating Information, enroll in Cleveland Community College’s classes to prepare you to take the CRC assessments.  A computer based pre-test will be given to interested individuals.  If students receive a satisfactory score, they immediately take the CRC.  If scores are not quite up to par in some areas, individuals can receive help through the computer-based KeyTrain lab at CCC.

Remember, employers are looking for employees with good skills.  If you want a better paying job, take advantage of this opportunity to prove to yourself and to an employer that you have the skills their company needs!
