Departmental Mission Statement

In keeping with the overall mission of Cleveland Community College to provide quality accessible educational programs and services, the mission of the Radiography Program is to prepare graduates for employment as registered skilled health professionals who employ the proper use of radiation to produce radiographic images of the human body. Graduates of the Radiography Program will acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for successful articulation in the Allied Health Field of Radiologic Technology.

Program Goal

To produce qualified, competent entry level radiographers with the skills and knowledge necessary for successful articulation into the Allied Health Field of Radiologic Technology.

Applicants should demonstrate a strong background in science and mathematics.

Recommended courses to be completed in high school:

Algebra I & II

Geometry

Any other advanced mathematics

General Biology

General Chemistry

Anatomy and Physiology

Recommended Courses which may be completed at a community college prior to admission:

OST 149 Medical Legal Issues

BIO 165 Anatomy and Physiology I

BIO 166 Anatomy and Physiology II

(note: state requires *BIO 163 but the department strongly recommends BIO 165 & 166)

MED 121 Medical Terminology I

MED 122 Medical Terminology II

PHY 102 Fundamentals of Physics II

*ENG 111 Expository Writing

*COM 231 Public Speaking

*PSY 150 General Psychology

*Humanities/ Fine Arts course

*MAT 161 College Algebra

*CIS 110 Introduction to Computers

*ACA 115 Success and Study Skills

Completion of any or all of the above courses does NOT guarantee admission to the program.
 
 

Placement Testing

Placement testing is required of ALL applicants to the Radiography Program.
 
 

All Developmental Courses must be completed with a C or higher prior to Admission.
