North Carolina Military Business Center to help secure military contacts

Thanks to funding from the NC legislature, local entrepreneurs and businesses have a new resource to help them in generating business with local military bases and with the Department of Defense nationally. The NC Military Business Center’s goal is to increase military business for existing North Carolina companies. Currently, our state ranks fourth in the number of military personnel stationed in the states, but twenty-forth in the awarding of military business contracts to local companies.

With its main office located in Fayetteville Technical Community College and other offices spread throughout the state, the center will also help to integrate transitioning military personnel and family members into the workforce and support the recruitment and development of defense-related businesses in North Carolina. Already, the center has created a Business Assistance Office to increase the number of existing North Carolina companies engaged in military business and a website, www.MatchForce.org, to match NC companies with military business opportunities. A business or entrepreneur can register for free at this website in order to take advantage of business opportunities at local military bases.

The center is working closely with local community college Small Business Centers and other agencies to assist in the securing of military contracts. For more information, the NC Military Business Center’s primary website is www.ncmbc.us and their telephone number is 910-323-4587.
