INDICATORS OF STUDENT SUCCESS
In February 1999, the North Carolina State Board of
Community Colleges adopted 12 performance measures for accountability. This action was taken in response to a
mandate from the North Carolina General Assembly to review past performance
measures and define standards of performance to ensure programs and services
offered by community colleges in

Of the performance measures:

The College exceeded the System average of seven performance measures.

The College exceeded the state standard for the aggregate Passing Rate
of Licensure/Certification Examinations for First-Time Test Takers.

There was no statistically significant difference between the College's
developmental and non-developmental students in their success rate in
subsequent college level courses.

The College met six Performance Funding Standards and received a
superior rating.
In addition, the College's allied health
(Associate Degree Nursing, Practical Nursing, Radiography) students had a 100
percent passing rate on state licensure exams for 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 and
2003.
